What we collect
Name, email, mobile number, residence, eligibility pathway, relatives’ names and villages, optional relative email/phone/WhatsApp details, a short connection statement, panel applications, contribution acknowledgement, application history, referrals, votes and member actions.
Why we use it
To verify eligibility, prevent duplicate accounts and invitations, deliver contextual family invitations and private notifications, build private genealogy, prepare reviewable family suggestions after a connection is confirmed, preserve optional memorial records, display a private member portrait, administer membership, protect voting integrity and meet governance duties.
Who can see it
Your tree and detailed contacts remain visible only to you and authorised reviewers. Inside the protected member network, your name, portrait, city, about text, résumé highlights, profession and connection degree are visible by default. First- and second-degree connections may also see your full résumé and profile. Email, telephone, street address and full genealogy are never exposed through directory search. Professional and proximity discovery can be disabled from your profile.
Family invitations
Provide a relative’s email or phone only when you are entitled to contact them. The form clearly identifies when an invitation will be prepared. One Bamileke checks existing members and active invitations first, sends no repeated join invitation for a shared contact, and offers the recipient a clear choice not to participate.
Your choices
Request access, correction or deletion by writing to privacy@onebamileke.org. Some records may be retained where necessary for fraud prevention, audit or applicable obligations.
